SOS GROUP HERALDS RETURN OF FANS TO ATHLETICS

The much-anticipated return of fans to live sport continues on Sunday (23 May), when UK Athletics hosts the Müller Grand Prix Gateshead at the Gateshead International Stadium.

The opening Diamond League fixture will provide vital preparation ahead of the Tokyo Olympics and the scene is set for an exciting evening of athletics in front of a passionate crowd.

Originally to be held in Rabat, UK Athletics made the offer to bring the Diamond League fixture to the UK when an alternative host for the Moroccan venue was required.

Bringing the event to Gateshead means more British athletes will benefit from the fixture and SOS Group is also very pleased to have the opportunity to play its part behind the scenes.

John Behan, SOS Group Director, says: “We’ve been working with our client UK Athletics for the last five years and, like anyone, we enjoy the buzz and excitement of nights like this.

“We know supporters will be thrilled to be back in the stadium and it’s wonderful to welcome this Müller Grand Prix to Gateshead.

“We’d love to see even more of these events in the region and, while we’ll have an important job to focus on, we’ll also be looking forward to a great night of athletics.”
