Hard Work Pays Off And Its In The Hole

Following a three day deluge of rain prior to this competition it took a great effort by the Green Keeping staff at Thorpe Hall to ensure the players had an excellent course to challenge themselves against. The field found the tight and well manicured course tough due to the wet ground conditions. Jack Brown (Sponsored by SOS) held the morning Clubhouse lead with an excellent round of 69.

The Colts Championship for Under 21s is run in conjunction with The Sir Michael Bonallack Trophy and this year the halfway lead was also held by Jack Brown with his two under par 69.

Jack Brown, the 1st round leader, followed up with a very steady 73 in the 2nd round to take the Clubhouse lead with a 142 total.

This fantastic score secured both net & gross wins in both competitions.

SOS have sponsored Jack for the past five years during which he has had to endure some serous sport related injuries including a fractured femur, cartilage damage and recently diagnosed early onset arthritis in his knee. Through a lot of hard work and dedication to his sport Jack is back to almost full fitness and rejoined is county gold squad.

Well done Jack and good luck in the England Amateur Championship next month.
